I never stop to ponder your name these days.
I still see fragments of you in places
when you were my shadow, my nemesis.
Always hovering, observing everything,
for the pleasure of making me suffer.
Does it disappoint you now
to see what I have achieved?
No longer walking on eggshells,
I can look in the mirror and like what I see.
The passing of time has brought relief, though
I admit my wounds still bleed.
I am busy creating a better version
of myself.
No longer the person you destroyed.
So, thank you for showing me how strong I am.
I was young back then, but now I am wise.
You were my harshest lesson,
but you taught me how
to survive.
