People hide a lot, and many of us wear a mask to hide our pain.
A huge stigma attached to depression, anxiety and other mental health problems.
We are all human and life can be hard and stressful!
It is not a case of “pulling your socks up” when the “unwelcome guest” or “black dog” arrives at your door.
"I'm not ok" YOU ask ME how I am. I say "I'm ok". But do YOU ever stop and think that might not be the case? Caught up in the minutiae of the day, you go about your business. Later on, YOU receive a call. I have passed away. I took my own life because I could no longer take the angst of depression with no support to lean on. I grew tired of having to pretend that I was ok. And when tomorrow comes, YOU will ask someone else the same question, without taking the time to see beyond the mask, they hide behind. So don't say, "How are you"? Instead, ask, "Are you ok"? People hide a lot, and often everything is not what it seems. But if you look closely enough, you will see.
