Once upon a time, someone stripped
the bark from my tree.
Though my sap remained, it was weak.
On my knees, I watched my leaves scatter
in the wind.
I have searched many times for those leaves,
they were the best parts of me.
I was young and naive back then.
Eager to please.
If you should ever stumble upon
those pieces, please bury them at
sea.
Those parts are outdated.
They do not
belong to this version of me.
My sap is now strong
My leaves are green.
The best parts of me are now reserved
until someone accepts the pieces that still
bleed.
