Young, naive and unloved by your mother.
Bullied at school, called one name or another.
Then someone comes along, and you fall for their charm.
Unaware and unaccustomed to the attention, you fall into the
misapprehension that is love.
Red flags start flying before long, and then you think it must be you.
"Did I do something wrong"?
Words used to erase your spirit are then surrounding you like bullets.
But as you take shelter from the volley of abuse, you know you have lost the battle.
So you surrender and submit,
now, branded like cattle with those words etched on your brain.
