He drew on a cigarette while she stared into an empty glass.
The air was thick and heavy as they sat in silence.
Unable to look each other in the eyes, they had averted their gaze.
So they sat at opposite ends of the couch while staring into space.
There could be no reconciliation this time.
He had broken her trust once again, even though he knew it would cause her pain.
As she looked out the window, her heart was breaking.
Then the sky turned grey, and the rain came
