Life after an abusive relationship

For more than a decade, I lived in a toxic/abusive environment. I survived by learning when to keep my mouth shut. Now, I have a voice by writing about my experience through poetry. This is my story, no longer silenced. I hope it gives you the courage to do the same!

The armour we wear is designed to see who cares. Love is a battlefield. We should choose our wars carefully.

When I pick up my pen to write, I never know where my pen will take me. I included some prose in this collection because some stories take longer to tell. I hope you enjoy this new collection of my work.

If you are trying to heal yourself, remember, it was not your fault. Some of the poems in this collection are quite raw, but I make no apologies for that. I don't believe in dressing my words up in a fancy bow. This collection was written as part of my healing journey.

Never be afraid to dream

This collection of poetry was written by a woman who has had many life struggles. I know there are many of you that have had then too. Take what you need from these poems, and know that there is, always hope!

This collection of poems was written during one of the many "lockdowns" at the beginning of the pandemic. I was also grieving at this time. It is very much an eclectic mix of words covering many subjects. I hope at least one resonates.
